Recently, a group of 23 from MGC Youth had a great opportunity to take part in a short missions trip that wasn’t too far from home. The trip took place during the last weekend of February and started with driving down to San Diego for a day at the University of California, San Diego. The group organized a concert outreach that included free live music, snacks, and drinks. Many students were able to hear the Good News about God, through the music, and personal conversations with the team. The focus was on building a strong foundation in life, which is Jesus Christ. It was a blessed opportunity to reach out to this generation, and we believe that many were encouraged and given something to ponder on.

The group also had the opportunity to visit two orphanages near Ensenada, Mexico. These orphanages are in a constant need of basic necessities, and the group was glad to help meet their needs. Additionally, the group shared songs and stories about God’s love, and also had the opportunity to interact with the kids. Their smiles were priceless.

The trip was finished off with a worship service at a local church in San Diego. It was a truly blessed weekend of serving and sharing the hope of God.

What an amazing weekend! I hope we can do something like this again, especially here in Sacramento.
